First Trip To A Beauty Salon Mar 31st, 2020   [viewed 35 times]

I have a daughter who likes getting dolled up. I remember her first annual function at school when she was in kindergarten. She took her mom’s makeup and besmeared it all over her tiny face. I had a hearty laugh. I wish she could have been here too. She would have laughed and then cried on her clumsy innocence. It is not easy being a single parent. Now, that I look at her all grown into this beautiful butterfly, I cannot be more proud of her and how much she reflects her mother.

The first wedding in our family saw a lot of excitement and all sorts of preparations with anyone associated with the family. The wedding was planned in the luxurious hotel of Lucknow which was not far from where we lived. Just like any other family, we were excited too. More than me, there was my daughter whom I felt had been stressing like she was the wedding planner. We have been living in Lucknow for over 10 years now and she still had to search for the best beauty parlor in Lucknow. She convinced me to take her to the beauty parlor she had found online with god knows what rating. She wanted to get her hair straightened and rebonded. I was just sitting there like a child on his first visit to the museum. My emotions were a concoction of excitement and astonishment. There were so many professionals and experts who were just busy with their work trying to get the perfect look for their clients. It was the season of marriages and everyone was lined up to be there. “This salon must have a very good rating”, I told myself.

The staff was very friendly and very hospitable who suggested her for different treatments and if her hair could undergo that treatment without damaging her hair. There were qualified professionals who underwent a thorough procedure on her hair to check for any allergies. Once they had a clarification, they went ahead with the treatment and got it done within an hour. But she was not done there. There was a party being organized before the wedding to begin the occasion and she had come for the same. She wanted to get the best party makeup done. It may sound like she had a lot of combinations going on her face but it was a simple and subtle makeup; just like her mother preferred. I wish she could have been here to see her daughter right then.

We were headed home after that when she stumbled upon a nail art salon which she had to try. She doesn’t prefer the hideous extension many ladies usually opt for. Instead, she went for a simple matte color that matched her dress. We had already exceeded our budget on that salon but then again, no one can put a price tag on my daughter’s happiness.
